A Message from the CEO Regarding COVID-19

Over the past few weeks, it’s become clear that the world is facing an unprecedented challenge. Like you, we are deeply concerned and want to do what we can to help keep our communities and our families safe and healthy.

On behalf of Universal Pediatrics, I wanted to send a personal note to you to let you know how we are responding to the situation. We are humbled by your loyalty, and we take our responsibility to our clients, our families, and our employees very seriously.

From the onset of this situation, we have been listening to the appropriate sources for accurate and up-to-date information, and our preparedness plan reflects those inputs. As things evolve, we are actively monitoring the situation and assessing risks, and are ready to implement immediate changes to ensure a high level of safety. We will continue to communicate in a timely and transparent way so we can continue to provide top level nursing care for those children and families that depend on us most.

What Universal is Doing:

• Universal is monitoring the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) daily. CMS has directed guidance in response to the COVID-19 virus and is part of the ongoing White House Task Force efforts. Universal has put into place directives based on these guidelines to protect both frontline employees and the clients being served.

 • We’re taking sensible steps to help protect our management team. This means fewer meetings, limiting travel, and making it easier for our people to take the time they need to care for themselves or their families in the event they are directly affected by COVID-19.

 • Universal is monitoring the guidelines and suggestions outlined by both the National Association of Home Care (NAHC) as well as the Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA). This includes weekly conference calls specifically addressing COVID-19 and the current state of response necessary.

We recognize this is a challenging time for all, and we remain deeply committed to the safety of our clients, families, and communities.

Our employees and clients are the heart of our company and we look forward to continuing our excellent health care for those children who need us most.

Please take care of yourselves and each other,

Tucker Anderson
